THE ULTIMATE VOLVO

Irv Gordon bought his Volvo P1800 for $4,200 in 1966.

In 1987, the Volvo logged its one millionth mile.

In March, the Volvo reached two million miles.

According to Gordon, a retired school teacher living on Long Island, N.Y., the Volvo, which he sometimes calls "Honey," has never broken down and has never failed to start.

The engine was rebuilt once, at 680,000 miles. The oil has been changed 660 times.

The Volvo has survived a couple of run-in with buses in the school parking lot.

Honey even lived on after a 20-mile drag on Interstate 80, her bumper having become locked onto an 18-wheeler.

Honey! You go, girl!
