ASPARAGIRL: FRIEND OR FOE?
When the Going Gets Tough,
the Lame Reach for Stereotypes

"AsparaGirl," an independent -- and thoroughly anonymous -- web-logger probably thought she was being cute/funny/hip when she dipped ever so shallowly into the well of the oldest batch of stereotypes of gay men on her relentlessly boring web site yesterday.

Don't bother checking it out. The self-described nice Jewish girl from Scarsdale, who fears her parents may connect their daughter with her pathetic web site -- probably because she has such a dirty mouth -- was merely spewing the usual crap about gay men being fashion-conscious Bette Davis-loving drag queens that has been regurgitated in any number of outlets over the past, oh, fifty years or so.

AsparaGirl's delivery was fairly deft, however, likely leading some of her readers to believe she has some kind of "in" with the gay community that gives her carte blanche to denigrate the same, thereby rendering her idiotic comments open to being considered humorous, honest, and harmless.

Sorry, Girl, but we're not buying it.
