OVERHEARD: RITTENHOUSE SQUARE, PHILADELPHIA
Carefully Sharing Candy

In the Rittenhouse Square area of Center City, Philadelphia, a father (about 40 years old) and his son (about six years old) were waiting for a bus and sharing a package of Sour Patch Kids, a popular confection.

After the son had handed his father five pieces of candy, the following conversation ensued:

Father: So, what, are all of the candies in that bag yellow?

Son: No. I just don’t like the yellow ones.

And do you know what? I’ve done that. As the son.
