FEWER AND FEWER INVITATIONS
Lloyd Grove’s Phone Isn’t Ringing

Today’s column from Lloyd Grove, the Washington Post gossip, is -- not all that surprisingly -- thoroughly political.

Grove, a.k.a. “Grovel” (e-mail: grovel@washpost.com), apparently isn’t getting many party invitations these days, and so instead fills today’s column with such captivating glitterati as feminist-activist Eleanor Smeal, Second Lady Lynne Cheney, former Moonie-paper columnist John Lofton, and Robert Kuttner, editor of the liberal magazine, the American Prospect.

“Our call to Prospect Editor Bob Kuttner was not returned,” is how Grove concludes today’s column.

We know the feeling. Grove still has four telephone messages from us that he has yet to return.
