An August Surprise?
For what it’s worth -- consider the source: the New York Post, and on “Page Six” at that -- there’s talk of a big surprise at the Republican convention: An announcement that Vice President Dick Cheney will step down because of his poor health, leading to a staged “Draft McCain” effort that will land Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in the number-two slot on the Republican ticket.
