JESSE MALKIN WRITES
Or Should I Say, Wrote?

Below I reproduce an e-mail The Rittenhouse Review received from Jesse D. Malkin, Germantown, Md., on November 16, 2003. And it’s not the only message I’ve received from him.

I object to your use of the term “immigrant hater” to describe my wife Michelle Malkin. Michelle has nothing against immigrants per se and would be the first to acknowledge that many immigrants make positive contributions to our country. She does, however, think that immigration should occur in a controlled, legal manner--and is particularly concerned that people who enter this country not be known terrorists or criminals. She also believes that tolerance of high levels of illegal immigration depresses wages among poorly-skilled workers and is unfair to those who wait in line to come here legally. This is the same view held by the late Barbara Jordan and probably 70 percent of Americans, including not a small number of Democrats.

[Post-publication addendum (December 8): Drop by World O’ Crap for great commentary on Michelle Maglalang Malkin’s latest droppings. Love the “Maglalang,” Sheri.]
